    The materials in the engine can handle the egts, that's not the issue. The issue is over stressing the cooling system which starts to happen when egts exceed 1300 degrees.

    Where did you get this info? EGTs on the ecodiesel do not have a direct interface with the cooling system. In heavy towing, engineers will actually retard timing and push more heat out the exhuast (raising EGT). Less time in the cylinder means less heat rejected to the coolant. More advanced timing equals more heat transmitted to coolant via conduction through cylinder head. The best method to control overall heat rejection to the radiator is with fuel limitation.

    Egts do not have a direct interface with the cooling system? So the heads, turbo, and engine oil, are not cooled by the cooling system? Higher egts put more heat into all of those items. It's an excellent power curve and nice kit just not the best towing setup.

    None of those are direct interface like a air/water cooler would be other than your oil cooler. Heads and turbo transfer heat to coolant via conduction and are large heat sinks being metal and all. We towed 9000 lbs. up Eisenhower pass without any issues. It is a phenomenal towing rig in the 1500 class. The truck in general could use a larger radiator, but that is FCAs blunder. GDE keeps all the critical parameters within OEM specs, so the engine will still depower on its own if coolant temps reach the limit.

    Yowza, that looks like a ginormous increase of hp/tq to the wheels. Over 40%?

    Is there any difference in the hp/tq numbers with the "hot tune" over the stock box?

    Whew, comparing this to the Maserati Ghibli's 275HP 3L and it isn't close.

    When towing up eisenhower pass what did the coolant and oil hit? Also were you running the stock oil cooler and intercooler?

    I should have figured that. I should never post when I am that tired.
    I went and compared it with the chart on your website. Looking at the numbers here is what I saw;
    Peak TQ comes in 300 rpms sooner and peak HP is 200 rpms higher for a 500 rpm broader peak power range.
    Peak HP goes up 88 HP and peak TQ goes up 152 foot pounds. Again thats at the wheels! As mentioned thats a 40% increase in HP for a much faster truck and just over 40% more TQ for a much stronger tower.

    ----------- stock-------- tune--------- tow---------- regular------ race
    WHP--------- 220---------- 248---------- 270--------- 291-------- 308
    WTQ--------- 365---------- 420---------- 490--------- 510-------- 517

    Injectors or fuel pump getting close to maxed out? One ride has to be like I gotta get me one of these!
