Battery dead after 5 days of setting

So my truck was built January of this year. I bought it in August. Here of late the battery will not have enough energy to crank if I let it set more than 5 days. I know it's cold outside but 5 days tells me there is a problem. I took it to the shop and no trouble was found. They charged it over night to load test the battery and the cells were fine. They checked to see if there was a load draw while it was off and only found 1 to 2 miliamps, which 4ma I'm told is the threshold. The alt is charging correctly too. They saw where there may be issues with some trucks where the dash lights up 10min after turned off. He didn't seem confident that was the problem but flashed the CPU anyways.
I would love to hear some opinions including the battery may be defective due to sitting 6 months. I will hate being stranded if I have to take a trip.

    Thanks....

Guessing you could sit next to the truck for 10 - 15 minutes and try to spy on the dash.

Not unusual to have bad batteries. Early production had a few reported. Batteries are a pain as failure of all types is common. My boat has four batteries Make it a pain times four.

There also may be other issues. Some past reported were related to air suspension turning on and off, seemingly at will. Then there's loose grounds and faulty electrical connectors and loose or corroded connections and ...

Try an indépendant battery shop and see what their tests show.

how close is your truck to your keys when its sitting? if they are close, and you have keyless go, your keys can be waking your truck up constantly.

Get an inexpensive load tester, pull the cables and check the load. My 3500 is about 16 months old, passenger battery almost dead. A lot of forums with people complaining about batteries going bad after sitting for a week. My 3500 never sat more than 7-8 days and had several jumpstarts before I gave up and tested. Two batteries from NAPA, $250. Could be more electronics on these newer trucks, cheaper batteries? A lot of complaints.

I know everything always is full proof and shuts off as it should...But try turning down your radio to 0, fan off etc. I had a buick when i was younger that would kill batteries until i made sure that there was no battery draw when i shut it off. Never had a battery problem with it since then until my sister got it and didn't listen to my advice...once she did no more battery problems.

5 days isn't acceptable; keep the dealer on the hook to resolve

in-laws have a vette that did the same thing; numerous trips to the dealer for batteries, fix was a misbehaving relay

buddy has a suburban, his issue ended up being the key being left partly in the ignition when off in his garage

Not uncommon to see half cooked batteries in new vehicles. Depends on how long they have been sitting on the lot usually. When I was in College I worked at a Benz dealer basically as a lot monkey, lots of fetching cars from the off site storage area, and lots of dead batteries, I never went anywhere without the battery booster pack. Went thru this with my last truck, battery replaced under warranty.

That is not normal. When I was working M-F, I would use the CRD during the week and the Ram would sit there all week. Friday night, no issues starting it after sitting all week.
