Thanks for your service. Stay safe.

Thank you for the concern DJL and yes it was just a figure of speech I could see how that could be taken, I didn't quite think of that at the moment.

    Folks:

Exciting News! FCA has officially filed for 2017 Ram and Grand Cherokee Diesel Certification with the EPA, which means we have fulfilled all requirements and now we just require a signature so we can release vehicles from containment. I know I have been communicating with a lot of you regarding timing and I said sometime this month, so if all goes well should be released from containment by end of the month or first week of June. Tell your customers thank you for their patience and we are at the finish line. Please see below on official memo

Please keep the following front and center for today:

I believe what happened is that the EPA was forced to get over its butthurt caused by the notification issues. The software update is a face saving demand from EPA that probably has only minor changes, if any. Say what you will but politics did play a part in this. These trucks would never have been certified under the previous administration. And Cal EPA is on its way out as a party to federal rules.

We had an old saying that "hope is not a course of action." But I still hope this news is accurate, and that the logjam has been broken.

The EPA/FCA news broke one week after I bought the truck, and based on the extensive and "spirited" talk in this forum, I reckon I was ready for anything to happen. This sure would be the best outcome.

This certainly seems like good news. I'm not up on all the in's and out's of certification, but everything I've seen so far says submitted for certification, not certified. Is there much of a chance it isn't? or is everything pretty much saying the 2 sides have finally worked this out and it's just a formality until certification is granted?

So, we are to believe this updated flash will not effect performance and economy. I bet the window stickers on the 2017s will show a drop in rated mpg. Who will be the first to rush to the dealer for a reflash? Not me!

Congrats to all the guys who have been patiently waiting for your EDs. I assure you the wait will be worth it; however, to get the best performance and economy I highly recommend you call Kieth at GDE. He is a pro at undoing the neutering that is forced upon the ED.

Heck, I'll let them reflash mine.......and right when I get home I'll stick my GDE ECM back in.
