    Making the Tough AT Choice

This forum has been great for figuring out which tires to get. I'd get convinced, and then start looking at specs and prices, and then go around again. So many good choices.

Only do about 15% unimproved road and trail time for work, but wanted the AT capability, plus the LT rating for towing the 5200 lb trailer.

I finally went with BFG AT KO2. I've heard and read a lot of good reviews over the years. Already had a couple of folks say the tires look nice on the stock rims.

Ride and steering seem about the same. Only a little, expected, whine on the expressway. Headed for dirt in a couple of weeks, so will look forward to kicking up some dust.

    Looks nice!

While I find the stock tires acceptable they are not what I'm going back with when I need tires.

They sure do look aggressive and geared for off-road use. Hope they give you reasonable tire mileage. That wear rate and noise are the pitfalls of aggressive tires like that.

    Report back as they age.

Definately a good tire. I just don't care for the tread pattern. I guess you can't argue with numbers though; it's a very popular tire.

So far mine have about 28k on them and there all still at least half tread. Ive only rotated them once, rears wear faster on my rigs. That's excellent for me the most I've ever got out of a set of tires is 35k. The only downside that I have found is there not as good as the duratracs in snow and ice.

I have about 20K on mine, noise is as low if not lower than stock, MPG dropped about 1 mpg maybe a tad more and they work great in the snow.

Yep, great minds think alike in this thread.

I'm down an average 1 MPG displayed, over the first couple hundred miles. Guess we'll see after the first long towing trip.

Really expected them to be worse behaving on dry highways, but so far they seem to handle well. Had some drizzle yesterday, and the KO2s spun pretty quick on the light slick surface - but any good truck will do that with enough throttle!

My wife, very attuned to the truck's great ride, said she couldn't tell any difference.

Had them on a previous truck. Loved them but the only issue i had was balancing. But i do love the look. I was torn on getting another set of those for my Ram, but wound up getting some Falken WildPeak AT3/W instead due to a good price. Depending on how these hold up (great so far, no signs of uneven wear and quiet and smooth ride and no issues towing 7k trailer) I may go back. They are one of the most popular for sure. I had almost 30k miles on my frontier with them and (yes it is not as heavy as a 1/2 truck) and i would say i hadn't even came close to half tread. I could have gotten another 30-40 easy off of them at my pace.
