Hey if green diesel could mod the programming to ignore a lack of auto transmission, I would be more than happy to snag a g238 from a 4.7 Dakota and toss it in my ecodiesel.
This is the transmission they are cramming behind the manual 6.4l hemi wrangler mods. If it's standing up to that I can't imagine why it wouldn't deal with out ecodiesel engines.
Originally I was debating finding a wrecked ecodiesel and working towards cramming one in my Dakota, but with my relative lack of diesel knwoledge in the electrical and operating sense combined with the failure reports, it seemed a better idea to just get the whole truck and have a 5 gear engine warranty.
I still have my fingers crossed that the diesel Jeep truck will be the manual transmission Dakota replacement I dream of at night. Especially if it's a manual with a club cab.
4.0 L engine (250cu.in.) , without the air suspension. KISS.
