Worried I have a coolant leak....I started the truck and pulled it back to grab something in the garage and figured Id check under the hood to make sure all good. I noticed coolant tank looked low...Read over these posts and not sure really where to look. I took a flashlight around and couldn't see anything. Should I just take it to the dealer and have them look for one?Are you slowly loosing coolant? Possible EGR cooler leak.-coolant.jpg

Well below the cold fill line on the tank...

Mine had been a little low as well but none of my oil samples have shown any water or antifreeze in the oil. Just picked up a bottle and topped it off. Well definitely be keeping an eye in it and will have to give the motor a good look over for those leak areas.

I noticed my truck had fluid stains where you took the picture (EGR?) and I have no sign of coolant in the oil. My last Blackstone report didn't find anything either. Now with a blown lower end, I wonder if this should also be replaced while it is going to be tore down for a long block. Will stop by the dealership and get a photo.

This is what my EGR cooler & coolant tank looks like:

Are you slowly loosing coolant? Possible EGR cooler leak.-egr-cooler.jpgAre you slowly loosing coolant? Possible EGR cooler leak.-tank1.jpgAre you slowly loosing coolant? Possible EGR cooler leak.-tank2.jpg

My cooler appears to have some form of seepage & the coolant appears a little low compared to the other photo on this thread. Everything is cold & has not been run in over 4 hrs. What is the correct level for cold coolant?

Hershey, Take a close look and you will see the "cold" fill line. Yours is low.

okay so I want to top my tank off and keep monitoring....can I just buy this stuff from an autoparts store or do I need to buy direct from dealer cause I am having trouble atm finding it....

so far research says using peak global lifetime which is oat compatible and meets chrysler standards is good for top off....

please advise.... or just use some distilled?

You are low Hershey. My cooler has the same seepage look as your truck. That's why I want it replaced as well.

Low line is just above the mold line.

My Oil cooler is "stained" as well with no noticeable coolant loss over 21 K miles. From reading previous posts, this is factory grease (in many cases) that melts & causes staining. I cleaned mine up & will monitor it going forward. I shouldn't see anything else if the grease theory is correct. I do plan on doing a coolant & oil analysis shortly just for peace of mind.
