Oh poo. Valves in the re-designed 68RE transmission. CP4.2 fuel pump failure taking out the engine. That's in spite of dual fuel filters. Wonder if there's going to be more issues with this newly designed Cummins?

You would think that FCA would have tested and tested and tested this stuff. Watch Cummins go to the Denso unit instead of Bosch. Appreciate the alert.

Are either of the fuel filters between the hpfp and the rail? If not, then there is nothing to stop the shrapnel from the failed fuel pump from destroying the rail and injectors.

Both fuel filters are before the cp4.2 pump. But most of the metal shrapnel gets in the fuel that is used to cool and lubricate the pump itself which just gets recirculated back into the main fuel flow. Thats why they destroy the entire fuel system one aftermarket kit came out for the ford 6.7 to direct all the fuel used to cool and lube the pump straight back to the tank so the fuel filters can sort it out and protect the injectors.

Viewed a different video on the GM 3.0 engine today. Seems that engine is using Denso injectors. Was not clear whether the injector pump is also a Denso product.

Guessing Bosch is going on the "poop list" more and more for their products.
