There is no reason to suspect a DPF issue over the dozens of other possible causes for the chimes. Don't sweat it until it throws a hard code that stays in the system.

Well, it turns out to have been coolant just below the sensor in the reservoir....so I'll be watching and documenting for the known coolant leak issue that will likely need to be serviced.

did you mean windshield wiper fluid low , that reservoir has a sensor , if you added Rain-X fluid in there
it is not compatible with the sensor and will throw codes.

I keep seeing this. I've used Rain-X for over 200,000 miles on my 2015 and have never had an issue with it.

All I know is I added some distilled water to the clear coolant reservoir...about 2 oz and the MIL light went out, so I assumed there was a sensor of some kind in there.

So I'm confused a bit. Read through this thread but maybe i missed something. I have a 2016, just over 100k on the truck. Has been 100% issue free aside from a bad egt temp sensor since I bought it 40k ago. My commute is 100% the same every day for the past 6 months and aside from the AEM being installed about 1000-1500 miles ago nothing has changed. Little over 100 miles round trip 99% highway. Stopped to get fuel today, same station I hit every 4 days, and threw this code when I pulled out. Got to work, no dealers local to me could get the truck in so I took this picture and had to clear the code. I've never gotten a message on the evic about any regens or anything leading up to this. After code was cleared truck drove home no issue. I'm not sure if it was a glitch or if I should keep my eye on something. Waiting for the AEM check and I'm planning on a basic gde tune, no need to delete yet, just want a bit more pep and some extra mileage. Familiar with diesels, just not all the extra electro nannies that are hypersensitive in the truck.

The truck's tune is hyper-sensitive. I wouldn't worry about that code unless it comes back on a regular basis. A GDE hot tune might keep the code from coming back if it's simply erroneous.

Does the regen message show up on the standard el cheapo instrument cluster?

I have approximately 11,000 miles on mine and have never seen a regen report yet. I drive about 25 miles to work one way at about 50/50 highway and city.
