    New RAM Grille Design?

In a new RAM commercial there are two images that show a pickup featuring the familiar Ram's head badge and a decidedly different nose. The images -- which appear onscreen for only a few of the spot's 30 seconds -- were first noticed by a commenter on the Chrysler-centric site Allpar.com.

Looks pretty good... Considering the grill is the first thing you see when you look at a truck, it has to look integrated, and clean.

The Nissan Titan grill has to be one of the ugliest ever made.... my opinion of course..... .latching a cummins badge is not going to change that butt ugly mug on the titan.

Ram grill looks pretty sharp, plus functional, keeping stuff out of the radiator. The early Eco Boost F150s whole bottom grill was open.... crazy, all that crap comes in on the intercooler...... Ram radiator looks pretty good. Marsman

Looks okay but would they really abandon the iconic crosshairs grill? Even more than the Ram logo the crosshairs immediately identify the truck from the front. Since the Dodge Ram logo was adopted exclusively for trucks a few years ago, maybe TPTB feel like the crosshairs are no longer needed.

On a side note, my wife noticed the many different grill insert patterns on the Ram pickups in the dealer lot. She preferred the all black one even though she does not want a black body. Her least favorite was the chrome-plastic Laramie grill. Too bad they don't allow you to mix and match grills like so many other products.

Of course there are many custom grills available for the flamboyant...

A couple articles about the ads made it sound like the renderings were part of the early design process and showed where the designers started from. I think the closest that would come to seeing the light of day on a production truck would be a re-introduced Dakota style truck. Actually think we could see the day the Ute style trucks are the Dakota/Ranger sized trucks of the future. People wanting some utility but not the 'large' size of even a 1500 size truck.
