Will a hot tune change this or will I need the trans tune as well. Thanks for your time in this matter.
    ..
That's the interesting part Jerome ,,, will GDE recommend that everybody with older Hot Tunes get updated to have
those higher shift points , OR , is their tune ,from before the AEM ,already safe for engine with lower RPM shift points ???
OR , are those higher RPM shifts regulated / controlled by the TCM , and new TCM update performed at the time of the AEM updates ??
    Opinions anyone ??

In that brief ride home after the AEM I thought it shifted lower.

Simple solution is to monitor the rpm like you would driving a standard transmission. Use the buttons to keep a lower gear and the rpm's up if needed.

Captain , now that you have your updated Hot Tune , does it feel exactly like the previous 4 year old Hot Tune ??
or is there obvious differences ??

Gee, maybe because the truck stock is slow as hell and sluggish? If they simply took a tuned truck for a spin and it wasn't slow as hell and sluggish that might give them a clue..

I don't know if it has anything to do with variations in each vehicle or timing of factory tunes or timing of GDE tune or what, but in my experience and many others as well there is next to no perceivable difference in performance.

Or should I keep my stock ECM and buy one from you so I can put the stock ECM back in the truck if I have to take the truck in for repair. Also after the dealer did the AME recall the truck shift at a higher rpm than before. Will a hot tune change this or will I need the trans tune as well. Thanks for your time in this matter.
Sorry for the long delay. I just got back from the dealer for my replacement EGR cooler.
The guy said that when he started the truck, it went into high idle and that was the trigger. It was -20C that day.
So, that's pretty much all he said, of course I denied this but he knew I was full of $hit...

How high did the Idle go ??? , even stock tune has high idle when cold , turn heater knob to high setting and boom -->1400 RPM
touch brake pedal idle goes down , release brake pedal idle goes back to 1400RPM ,
if you got high Idle option from GDE ,it will go higher than 1400 , that could have been it .

    1650 rpm fast idle.

I can see how that can be a giveaway.....

For my truck there is a difference. Hook it up to a dump trailer and you can tell something is up. At 75k miles (last November) I installed the GDE tune, had my oil changed the next day. The porter who brought my truck around commented that it felt more "lively" than the last one he drove.
