What kind of trade will your dealer give you on the Hemi truck? Better than $35k? Worth looking into. I do find it hard to believe you'll get $35k for your truck.

Me too. Especially considering what I paid for it but that's what they told me. Of course there's a million ways to structure a deal. I once sold a power cord for $1,500. I was working with a municipality that wanted to purchase a piece of equipment from me that cost $6,500. They had a rule that any purchase over $5k had to go out for bid. They didn't want to do that, nor did I. I sold them the piece of equipment for $4,995 and the power cord for $1,500.

It's likely my truck is the power cord given what they said they'd give me for it.

I'm gonna go out on a limb a bit and say there's no way you're getting $35k in trade. They do stuff like that to get you in the door and then offer you $21k and say that wholesale is $18k and you should be grateful they're offering $21k.

If you want to trade your neighbor, that's up to you. Imagining you're going to get anything near an even swap at a dealer without dropping trim levels and options significantly is a bit naive I think.

yep, that guy with the 2019, he's got one of those Russian fuel pigs.... stay with what ya got... My ED, she's got a 3.55 rear end, limited slip butt end, the best economy, 155 mile trip did 31.8 had tail wind, lo humidity no hills to fight, and pedal locked in at 65 mph... she lives at 26.7 to 27.5 mpg... the worst economy, towing a 7800 lb. parachute... 15 mpg at 55mph, but, on the same trip, going 70 to 75 mph, she sipped fuel to improve to a fantastic 18mpg... at that 55mph with the 7800 lbs. she was lugging a bit, and flopping in and out of 5th and 6th gear... but at 75 mph, she lived in 7th gear with no problem, thus better fuel econ...
