Will truck go into limp mode after DEF warning?

My nearest dealer is two hours. When driving home, the check engine light came on "Service DEF, engine will not restart in 175 miles". By the time I got home, I'm was down to "37 miles" left on the warning before the truck will not restart. Here's my question, can I drive the truck back to Albuquerque tomorrow (150 miles) as long as I don't shutoff the engine, or will the engine detune (go into limp mode) after the "37 miles" has lapsed?

GO to this URL, post #5. The truck will shut down. This is the workaround to start the truck and get it to whatever location:

Are you sure? Seems like a huge safety issue if it truly shut down. 'Will not restart' does not equal 'Shut down'.

I'm going to find out tomorrow. We are heading to the dealership tomorrow morning (150 miles). If the truck goes into limp mode, then I'll be calling Roadside Service. Let's hope that I can drive all the way there with no problems.

Will the truck go into limp mode, though?

Report back with your "findings". Remember the jumper explanation if you need to re-start.
