Hi: MAS... As I always say..."Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder"!!! Just got back from a month in Newfoundland where diesel was around $1.35 per Liter (X 4.5 for a Canadian Gal.) Averaged 21.1 miles to a Canadian Gallon for the trip. I used Irving diesel for the most part. They have the most stations on the island.

Is that a white sailboat or did you find the last piece of Arctic Ice?

My best mileage, by far, has been while using bp diesel from merrillville indiana. A trip from there to nashville netted me 32.8 mpg. I usually use shell as I dont have a bp close by, and my high average is about 28. We used to have b20 around here, and I very much preferred to use that. While my mpgs dropped to around 24.5, the lubricity offered more than made up for the very slightly increased costs. We all have heard about the costs of injection pumps and injectors. Unfortunately, b20 no longer seems available in the nashville area anymore.

When I used to live up North I would use C\enex Roadmaster, Kum & Go Xtreme Diesel, or SInclair, I noticed a difference in mileage and injector noise in my EcoDiesel if I ever used anything different. Now that I live down South and don't have the EcoDiesel anymore I use whatever diesel I Ican find, usually Walmart Neighborhood market has the best price, so that's what I use, I treat the fuel with additive and just drive.

I just switched to Mobil Synergy Diesel from Meijer (Michigan). I seemed to have gained about 1.5 mpg's with the Mobil gas. They just put in a brand new station by my work, so that is where my last 3 tanks have been from. Going on a road trip this weekend, will fill up by the house, I'll see how that does.

I'm a tanker driver. Ulsd is ulsd. Only difference is the additives and until recently, only exxon and mobil had unique additives. As was said above, not unusual to see virgo taken to a marathon and vice versa, at least for diesel. They're stricter on the gas side of things

For anyone (like me) who didn't already know...ULSD = Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel

It appears to me based on the input received that this will be my fuel plan:
    1. Buy from a station that frequently has their supply replenished (high volume, small tanks, etc)
    2. Put some additive in occasionally to aid in keeping injectors clean etc.
    3. Change the fuel filter regularly
