2016 89K KMS New EGR Cooler Needed.

Dealer called. They have had to add a little coolant 3 times now since new so today they pressure tested and it failed so they have ordered an new EGR Cooler.

Up until today the only other issue I had was the Air Suspension fuse which they replaced the ASU. Now they want to replace the EGR Cooler. Don't know if the 5/100 would have covered that because I have a MaxCare for 6/120K

Not a big deal but better dealing with this stuff while under warranty I guess.

    Cheers,

I had mine done last week. EGR Cooler and the particulate filter. At first they told me it would be 2-3 weeks due to heavy demand on EGR cooler but parts came in quick.

I would bet you’ll be getting swivel issues and a cold crank error code.

Glad they caught it under warranty.

Sounds like we have similar trucks except mine is 3.55 and no Rambox. I'll remove my EGR if it fails outside of warranty. Hell, might even go that route if close to the end of warranty. Save $100 and my trouble lol.

    Swivel issue?

One issue I did notice a couple of times when starting the truck when warm and pulling away, it appears to almost bottom out with the throttle. Like it is accelerating then it stops and you have to push the throttle further.

I hope this is not the start of more crap as the truck has almost been flawless.

Hopefully that fixes your coolant loss, mine was replaced under warranty. It appears I am still losing coolant though

Coolant level likes to stay at the seam of the plastic tank on mine when cold. If i add anything over the seam it dissapears. Been like that since day 1. Truck is almost 3 years old with 83k miles.

So decided to leave it at the seam when cold and its staying there. I think there is some kind of a flaw in design that it does what it does. Leaking egr cooler is a whole different story.

My coolant level has been always close to the full line, , but on a recent trip to Pennsylvania the level was way down. I went directly to the dealer and the service mechanic said there is no problem here, he explained I have no leak and the coolant evaporates. the mechanic put a half gallon of antifreeze into the truck. The next day I drove back to NC. After a 700 mile ride, I check coolant and to my surprise I had to add a 1/3 of a gallon of anti-freeze. That was enough of a problem for me, the next day I traded in my 2016 eco ram, I did not know what was happing as I never had a low antifreeze level. I ran that truck 3 years and 47000 miles without any kind of problem. If problems were going to start with this truck, then they were going to go on without me. I did opt out of the settlement so I had no flash, so why it happen, I do not know! But it is now gone.
