Does anyone have first hand experience on changing the interior lights to a Laramie Longhorn? Every video on youtube is of a Big Horn or similar model. I know that my map lights aren't as easy to switch as indicated because when I went to remove the plastic piece on the map lights, I encountered something that I wasn't expecting to and now that map light won't turn on after I put the plastic piece back on. There's like this plate behind the plastic piece where the bulb is behind of. Do I have to remove the entire overhead console? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Trying to switch my interior lights to LED's. Thanks, all.
Don't know if this helps, I also have not ever replaced the map lights in my truck. Maybe when the console is
removed it may be easier to replace the bulbs? I looked for a procedure to remove the map light lens but
could not find one.
Those map lights are LED. The reflector is bonded in place. Those LEDs are replaceable but you have to pull the overhead console down and remove the reflectors from behind. A 194 bulb fits in the socket.
If the map light won't turn on manually, you might have broke the tab on the lens that pushes the switch.
Thanks for the tips guys. My Laramie longhorn map lights are not working correctly. Can tell they are LED so I knew the change my be a little harder.
