    If you want to avoid the golden shower, use a gallon ziplock bag.

    unscrew that yellow drain plug first into a container, after it drains, check the container for possible water... then unscrew the filter container cup... plastic bag sounds awesome, wish I would have thought of that one...

    If you havent done the brass drain screw modification, i found that opening the yellow plastic screw to do initial drain, and then filter wrench until loose to hand tightness. At that point, you can unscrew the filter assembly by hand while supporting it with the square bottom of a grapefruit jug, and theres no splashing. I did the brass screw mod at last change, so today i used the 1-man brake bleeder bottle holder concept.Fuel Filter Mess-20190516_171500_1558053011161.jpgClick image for larger version.

    My Dad was a diesel mechanic for his working career. The smell of a little spilled diesel fuel brings back good memories for me. I don't mind dribbling a little.
