Let a guy hook his boat to my Cummins. Lazy me as he was a good mechanic and I did not check. When it came off the tongue it went THROUGH my tailgate.

My fault. I bought a whole new tailgate from a yard that sold take-offs. Yours looks like an easy fix. Just leave marks to remind you. I also use bumper stickers for reminders when I cover over stupid damage.
If you wrestle with a pig you'll both get dirty and the pig loves it. .

Ohhhhhhh, Mannnnnnnnnn, ouch, it's called character, and you did it.... hey, we've all done it, now, someone suggested doing the job yourself, but, for $200 to $250 or less, drop by your local body guy, if it's bright white, PW7 is the paint code, and say, fix it... just jerk the gate off, and see ya later... he should call you in about 3 days, maybe 4 if his painter isn't drinking or high on fumes...
