    RPM flutter at idle

Sorry if this has been discussed in another thread. I searched and did not come up with much.

The past couple months my truck has been having an issue at idle. The RPMs will begin to flutter an bounce up and down. This causes my truck to shake pretty bad. If I let off the break while at idle it will pull forward very, very jerky. It feels like someone is tapping the accelerator and subsequently tapping the breaks. If I press the accelerator lightly the issue continues. However, if firmly press the accelerator the issue subsides until my rpms drop again. Note: This only happens after my rpms drop to around 700-750 rpm when the truck is warm(ish)

I've tried bringing it to dealer (while showing them video of rpm) but they keeping giving the truck back stating they are unable to replicate the symptoms.

Does anyone have any potential ideas of the culprit so I could try and guide dealer to the root cause?

    Thanks!

Clogged fuel filter maybe or worse, failing injector pump.
Couldn't hurt to check the fuel filter.

If its the fuel filter I'll find out in a hurry as my new one arrived in mail today. Question though, wouldn't a clogged fuel filter cause the syptoms to be exacerbated under acceleration?

Probably would get worse under acceleration.

How many miles? You could be all coked up from egr.

Do you do lots of short trips?

Can you post a video of the issue? We're curious to understand the issue you're having.

Last guess was a sticking EGR valve. Never had a conclusion that I know of.

A sticking egr should flag a fault code as the air mass would not reach the set point value. It could be a calibration issue from the factory, a heavily sooted engine, drifting injectors, bad fuel, etc.

Anyone know if its possible to upload a MP4 from mobile? Everytime I attempt to upload, the video does not appear in my file upload manager.

30,000 miles, however I've noticed it atleast since 20,000. I drive about 20 miles to and from work daily, ~70% freeway.

Also, I've never seen the regen message.
