Personally anxious to know when they are available. Our small town dealer is slow to get new trucks or get up to speed with literature and stuff for ordering.

Both usually happen after the summer plant shutdown in about July.

Read that the Sterling Heights plant will start building 2020 Ecodiesels in just a few weeks - July.

Expected sale of those Ecodiesels will start this Fall. No clue when orders for them might be taken.

Looking forward to that info as well, but not sure about the new body style, maybe 2020 will be available in the classic model also? Also hope the "start stop" feature is an option, or can be disabled!

for what its worth I have a 2018 Pacifica with the start stop and it is the driver's option whether or not it is activated. I find it unobtrusive. The car has a larger battery and they claim the starter is more robust, but I am not sure about that.

I drove one of those Jeep Cherokees Monday. It was the loaner provided by the dealer. Must have been a new model as it had just over 2,000 miles on it. Leather, big screen, navigation and more did spoil even me on someone else's dollar. It had start stop.

Darn thing shuddered when it did that. Scared the heck out of me a couple times. Wife was with me. She has that on her new Ford Escape. I have been in it when it did that. You feel almost nothing. On this Cherokee it was quite obnoxious. Did not look to find the button to turn it off. If I owned it, it would be off but I would not want to own one of those things. Rough riding, twitchy steering. loud motor with high rpm's, head bonking entrance and exit plus a fuel door on the passenger side.

Might look good but looks can be deceiving.

Biggest issue I've had with start stop on a Grand Cherokee rental was when I tried to push into traffic. Had to wait for the engine to kick on and then I just about missed my hole. If I weren't in Canada at the time, I'm sure I would have gotten the horn and maybe a "You're Number 1" wave.

Two dealers tell me 2020s are available for order now and that they already have stock units ordered. I did not ask about the Ecodiesel option but will see a dealer on Wednesday. They did say pricing was available. We'll see what I learn on Wednesday. Ram's website gives no hint and the configurator is still for the 2019 year.

I have now visited two local dealers. Both small. One in a town of about 8000 and one in a town of about 28,000. I had my truck nicely cleaned up and gave them its original window sticker and a build sheet for the 2020 I wanted to buy. The 2020 list was $65,200. A longhorn with options and the PEntastar V6. The invoice was $59,751. The dealer holdback was estimated to be $1700 to $1800 on the truck. No rebates available at this point. The deals were similar with one dealer giving back all the holdback except $100 and the other keeping about $500 of the holdback. THis is with no negotiation just asking them for their best deal. One offered me 19,000 in trade for my 78,000 mile 2014 Longhorn Ecodiesel with a chip in the windshield requiring replacement and some tailgate dings where the neighbor forgot to latch the trailer hitch when I let him borrow the truck. The other offered $23,000 for the truck. The one with the highest offer said their offer included the added miles I would put on the truck/passage of time waiting for the new one estimated to be 2-3 months. The other made no commitment about the value when the new truck arrived.

I paid a bit more than $46,000 for the truck plus tax etc. I guess when I think about it I cannot feel too bad about getting half price for the truck using it 5.25-5.33 years and 80,000 miles. Especially here in salt country. I have used up about half the truck and am getting about half the value back on tradein plus the $3075 settlement check minus about $600 spent for a tonneau and bed mat.

I was expecting 25-26,000 but may end up about there with some negotiation.

Neither dealer had any info on ecodiesel availability timing or new colors for the 2020s.

I did drive a 2019 bighorn crew cab short box with no options with the Pentastar and the etorque. It was quieter inside than the hemi in a longhorn with the noise cancelling. It had great power and will be perfect for my needs. It had the standard 3.21 rear end ratio and was turning about 1250 rpms at 60 mph. I was amazed. I still think I will get the 3.55 given the characteristics of the Pentastar and the fact that most of my driving is 60 mph or below. I will try and do more research on that elsewhere. I had also driven a 2019 classic quadcab with the PEntastar without the etorque and there is a perceptible difference and that one had the 3.55..
