My truck has been at the dealership for this code almost two weeks which is longer than I have had it since I bought it. I replaced my fuel filter when it started acting sluggish on my first long trip. I brought it to the dealership the Monday after that weekend and they have had it since. So far they replaced the turbo duct, O2 sensor, and turbo hoses. Each time they have driven the truck over 50 miles to see if the CEL stays off but keeps coming back on. Today the service manager calls me to tell me they don't know what to do next and are awaiting Chrysler's direction. It may involve getting the Chrysler field tech to troubleshoot. Service manager said they haven't seen this code very much. Asked him if they checked the fuel system and EGR he said code isn't related to a emissions issue but I wonder about the fuel system. Bought my truck CPO with 41k miles. Definitely second guessing my choice as my 12 Hemi was a beast tuned and never had an issue...

My truck has 133000 miles on it been in the shop for your problem they found the intake manifold had a softball size hole in it. The replaced intake manifold both fuel injector rails all the injectors found the manifold clogged with carbon deposits, cleaned carbon up and replaced EGR precooler and valve. Do not let them tell you it is a bad filter because the code signals a loss of electrical to the number one cyclinder ejector.

Yes I have read many threads about the "bad fuel". The biggest thing that screws me up is that there's was nothing wrong with the truck except the P026C fault code. It ran great. It ran better better before they did the emissions computer update but still ran great. Thanks for the follow up Kazimodo.
Get the insurance company check, buy the GDE compliant tune and I'll bet your codes will be history, and the truck will run better than ever!!!
Pocket the difference.

My 2015 just threw a P026C last week, looks like I鈥檓 joining the crew. I tried swapping out my fuel filter over the weekend just in case even though I only have about 10K on it and it came on again today after clearing it. Truck has about 88k miles on it and will be calling the dealer tomorrow.

My 2014 Eco Diesel Rain 1500 has had this issue for over two years and the dealer has done everything from replacing the whole emissions system (I mean everything) I have even had My DEF tank replaced and fuel injectors replaced. The finale outcome is they DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. On my end I've tried every Fuel Additive on the market, Different Gas stations and Truck Stops, Tried changing my fuel filter every 6,000 miles Nothing and I mean Nothing has worked. If someone ever finds a solution I would appreciate it, but until then I keep driving my truck (which runs great by the way) with the engine brightly glowing as I drive along.

I just picked mine up from the shop who had it all week and they were pretty stumped, I guess there was an update due and they also found that the MAF sensor plug was a bit loose. Honestly not sure how that would have happened but between updating and that they called it good. If the code came back they'd need a Star Case. Drove home and ran a couple of errands without issue, so we'll see if it stays clear.

Lasted about a week and the P026C popped back up, truck has been back at the dealer all week. No updates from them as of yet.

FWIW I do have the AEM and new EGR, both were done at the same time in maybe in April a few thousand miles ago.

Got a call from the dealer today saying they believe the issue is one of the O2 sensors as well as a boost sensor. After initially saying it wasn't covered under the AEM they double checked and are replacing both under warranty. We'll see if this corrects the issue or not.

I'm experiencing the same P026C code. Dealer told me that FCA recommends adding some fuel injector cleaner to the fuel and drive the vehicle aggressively to see if it will clear. Now the dealer tells me the bill is $425 for the injector cleaning and that FCA will not cover it under the AEM warranty even though injectors are specifically listed. Why would I pay for something that FCA recommends doing to clear the engine code? IMO, that should be covered by the AEM Warranty. Am I right or am I crazy?

Had this in 2018. 6 new injectors and flushed fuel lines. Now run fuel treatment with every fill up and new fuel filters every 5k. Apparently FCA has been recommending this for years however it鈥檚 not in the manual and that may have been my only saving grace and Chrysler covered it all. Had a rental for almost a month til they figured it out

You're changing your fuel filter every 5K miles??? Why not 20K miles instead of the recommended 30K miles? 5K miles is not a lot of miles.

Updating my situation here, apparently the O2 sensor wasn't replaced at the same time since it was backordered. Ended up having to take the truck back and get that replaced as well. The truck lasted about 3 days before throwing the CEL again, back to the dealer we go.

I have a 2017 ram 1500 ecodiesel. I have had the P026C code for about 15000 miles. The dealership told me I needed to change my fuel filter. My response was 鈥淚 changed it 1400 miles ago.鈥 I then took it in 4 times in a row only for them to 鈥渃lean my sensors鈥. They told me I needed to next run the injector cleaning. Got that done, left the dealership and within 5 minutes, P026C. Also, I get 13.5mpg. I have been running diesel kleen since I bought it and am at 56k now. I am betting on injectors and have since I got the CEL for the first time. The dealership is literally doing everything they can to just 鈥渃lean my sensors鈥 and send me on my way. So over it. I also ordered an o2 sensor since the dealership wanted to rip me off for the same exact part.

I wish they would do this for me. I have been begging for months to just at minimum test my injectors. I want them to replace them. I change my oil and filters including fuel every 5k as well.

Well it's my turn now.. I just had the EGR cooler update and dead petal flash done. I have to say that the flash did make the truck more responsive for 31 miles until I got the PO26C code. I reset it and will see if it comes back. This is the first MIL that I have had since the first week that I had the truck new and the DPF was bad.

Gene you beat me to it. I'm now holding the torch for the longest wait for a replacement EGR. Glad you finally made it in I did reach out to RamCares still seems like they don't care. How's the truck now?

I'm now getting the same "Injector cleaning is standard maintenance and must be done" line after the truck has been at the dealer ship for 2 weeks now. They said they were stumped since everything looks OK and the code isn't really telling them much. They do apparently have a STAR case and have been recommended the flush as it apparantly has worked for others. I'm getting that done, but would be shocked if the code doesn't come back up on my way home.

If the code comes back I guess I'm going to start looking into the buyback process and seeing if this would be covered, I've got the AEM and new EGR done within the last year. I'm 4 dealer trips in and 29 days total without the truck so far since November. I like to think I'm patient and really do like this truck and don't want to deal with buying another, but it seems to me they are just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks.
