You don't look to bad either.

If we start to feel a a little funny it would be nice if we could just get another "engine" in you and get going again. Keep 'er up.

Oldminer, Yes I have put two replacement engines in her. If the motor or fuel system fails she won't see the million mile mark under me. Anything else can be repaired or replaced cost effectively. Everything works AC heat cruise control 4WD.

Captain, I hope I don't need to get a new ticker. I still feel good. If I have trouble I'll follow your lead and get me one of them Rykers. I should be fine but I have heard old truckers never die they just get a new Peterbilt.
I might be reluctant about trading in the old Ram though. I don't like doctors or car salesmen neither one. :ROFLMAO:

We know this is 'fake' news, we've had plenty of folks come on this forum to warn us that these trucks won't make it past 10,000 miles they'll come in make that one or two posts, everyone knows the interweb doesn't lie :sneaky: .

Had to poke fun at ya @VernDiesel. Congrats amigo! she's lookin great 😀 I loved my truck and really looking forward to that upcoming million mile post!

Vern that is an incredible feat. How many windshields have you replaced?
When I traded mine recently with 290,000kms on the original windshield it had a stone chip repair but the sandblasting effect made it difficult to see through when direct sunlight hit it.

How many miles do you have on the engine that is in it at this time?

The amazing Vern Diesel. You and your truck should be in the archives. I still think Ram should honor you with a new truck of your choice. Congratulations AGAIN!

At 700k a simple solenoid failed in my transmission. Unfortunately it was part of a motherboard IE not cost effective to fix. I used the salvage yard locator to find purchase and have sent to my dealership a 70k mile transmission. Paid $1260 for it plus labor for the swap. I've done transmission swaps in the past but since it was already there. They swapped it in and corresponding software. Been great for 200k now. Two rear ends. Since then I have replaced worn out leaking hub bearings upgraded to a support cover and swapped over to a 100% synthetic gear oil made by Amsoil. No more issues. I've replaced two windshields.

RAM would be stupid to not use Vern's story especially with the dedicated towing.

@RamCares should be all over this.

That is phenomenal longevity as everyone has mentioned. Did the math and at my present rate of driving I will get there in 65 more years or so! I agree RAM should use you for advertising!

Vern, now that you have the Cummins, how often do you tow with the EcoDiesel?

Been using it a lot lately. I will use the Cummins more this summer. It’s nice having two so that at oil / tire change time I can do it when it’s convenient to me.

No doubt it is a lot of miles on the truck. I’m way more impressed with the durability of the transmission than the motor. I guess it’s nice that they lasted as long as they did, but in the world of engines I don’t feel like they lasted that long.

That transmission life doesn't surprise me a bit.

These are light duty engines. I think 300,000+ miles is impressive for any light duty engine, especially considering the hard use that Vern put them through. Let's review:

Vern's factory engine: 371,000 miles (failure due to leaking EGR cooler that caused a failed head gasket)
Vern's second engine: 423,000 miles (failure due to a cracked head)
Vern's third engine: Still in operation at 106,000 miles
