I sold my Ecodiesel in 2017 due to all the computer issues. Traded for a new 2017 Limited and couldn’t be happier. My brother in law also bought an Ecodiesel and had zero problems. He did have the recall work done two weeks ago. Last Sunday, he and his wife and daughter were coming home from a football game and the truck suddenly lost power. He was on the interstate at 70 plus and quickly pulled off the highway to the shoulder. He noticed an oil light and then smoke started coming out of the vents. They got their luggage and got away from the truck as the truck ignited. Fire crews were there immediately, but it was a write off. Too early to see what FC will do, or say. It is interesting that he has 116,000 miles with zero issues until they did the recall on it.

Unless you have evidence that work the dealer did or didn't do caused the fire, I don't think you should be pointing fingers.
Cash the check and get something newer.
