Looks like the camera or display maybe both have been drinking.
That's what their diagnosis is, bad camera. Should be in next week and we'll see if that fixes the issue. I have read were folks would get a blue screen, but I didn't see anything about a fuzzy/distorted image.Hey! I had the exact same thing happen on my '16 ED. I could open and close the tailgate and it would go back to normal. Took it to dealership and they ended up replacing the camera assembly. No more problems!
Good reason to install a DeeZee tailgate assistIf the tailgate is aloud to drop or drops on it's own the camera lens can be damaged.
Why didn't you get it fixed under warranty? I would think any camera repair shop could fix it. Your dealer might be able to get it covered under warranty if you are only 1000 or so miles out.I have the same problem/same blurred image at times Opening and closing the tailgate solves the problem for a little bit. I have a 2016 with 37000 miles. Anyone know if this is covered under the 100,000 warranty or the 34,000 warranty? I don't think it is, any idea where I can take it where it won't be dealership prices to fix?
Hi: Molecular_Mecanic... When this used to happen to me I simply got out, opened the tailgate, and slammed it shut again. Got the picture!!! You OTOH can take the cover plate off it, find the camera power plug and clean the contacts.Has anyone had issues with their back up camera. I've been experiencing an intermittent issue with a fuzzy screen. Like and old analog tv antenna. At the dealer know to see if they can pin point the issue.
I have this issue every once in awhile on my 3500.Has anyone had issues with their back up camera. I've been experiencing an intermittent issue with a fuzzy screen. Like and old analog tv antenna. At the dealer know to see if they can pin point the issue.
Hi: Shhhhakaka... After several scrambled vids I took mine apart and cleaned the contacts. I also had my "Clock cleaned" too!!! Putting my truck in reverse is traumatic enough as I'm always on the lookout for "Stella Antics" standing behind my truck. I rarely remember to look at the screen. That's what the "Dumbo" ears are for anyhoo.I had the same issue as everyone here. I took the hatch off the tailgate to get to the plug for the camera. Took it apart and gave it a good cleaning. Plugged it back in and have not had any issues since.
Easy fix for me. Hope it's the same for anyone else.
Edit: just saw rad said the same thing. Should have kept reading the thread.
