I have three dealers trying to order the 28Z package across various trim levels and neither of them can place the order due to restriction via the DealerConnect software used for placing orders.

I just got a call from a dealer stating that there is now a newsletter on the dealer connect screen stating that orders for ED are halted for three months due to "configuration issues", timestamp of newsletter is April 3, 2014. Can anyone confirm if they have been able to place an order beyond April 2, 2014?

28Z is the Big Horn package. Maybe you can find one in stock somewhere.

I was just at a dealer an hour ago and could have place an order. I was looking at a CC 4x4 Laramie. The sales manager had to in the system and do it as a sold order and it allowed him to select the options I wanted.

I went to three different dealers over the weekend. Two could have ordered a truck but one could not. The three dealers are 60 miles apart.

They will probably open everything up around the same time the did last month, after the 10th. These diesels are in 3 models now, Jeep, Ram and The Pro Master van and remember they come from Italy so you have to consider lead times for production and shipping

I suspect you may be correct. These dealers can't seem to get their sh*t together. I had another dealer tell me yesterday that their allocation period starts on April, 8th, so I will try again then.

I just spoke with dodge again. They contacted factory reps and said there is a restriction on all ecodiesel orders right now and it's opening again some time next week. They can't say which trims will and won't be available when it does reopen though.

Probably due to the 8k orders placed in March. They are buried in orders with a supply strategy developed for much smaller demand. Look for this to continue until supply of components (primarily the ES engine) increases or the demand for the product declines.

One of the dealers I talked to earlier this week called today and said 2014 model year is done. She said that they will start taking 2015 orders in a few weeks. I haven''t any idea if this is true or even makes sense. This is some screwed up marketing effort.

The window closes fast as they are trying to maintain demand and get some on lots as well. The last I had seen was orders would be open until at least May possibly later, but May would get a June build and push retooling to July/August and 2015s to a Sept/Oct release. Although so little has come out about the 15s I'd expect less than parts bin sourced upgrades and possibly pushing cameras on all trims to meet the new rules early, or at least them pushing dealers to order cameras.

Placed my order this afternoon over the phone. Went to the dealer last Thursday and had two trim levels priced. Laramie and SLT with Big horn options.
Sold my 2012 TDI Jetta this afternoon and ordered the Laramie CC 4x4. I didn't have time to get to the dealer before they closed so I used my build sheet from last week. Decided not to get the Ram box. I am a USAA member and got it for Invoice. Planning on signing up for Tread lightly affiliation and get 1% below invoice. $46,869 before incentives. I finally found a dealer that can order but it looks like the incentives I was hoping for do not apply to the diesel. The only thing Dodge offered was $1500 for a cash purchase.

Did the dealer give you any hassle about the usaa/truecar price? I just had a dealer tell me that it was only for trucks in inventory, and that they would have to do mine for invoice, which is $6K more than the usaa price. This whole process has been a mindf*ck, so cal ram dealers are terrible (scottsdale, az too)
