Hi all,

I've been researching a hard folding covers for a while now,.... I'm sure all of us have read a post regarding BAKFlip or Undercover flex covers etc and really there is no clear winner for me. All personal preference.

However, I have recently discovered a new cover from BAK Industries called the MX4.

I would like to ask if anyone has this new cover and if they could provide any feedback and thoughts.

thank you everyone in advance for your replies.

Moose :)

Welcome to the forum. I'll slide this post over to the accessories section and you should get some feedback.
Thank you, I'm new to the site. I appreciate you doing that. Cheers.

Welcome. I have the earlier Bakflip VP cover and am very satisfied. Just viewed the new MX4 and wished I had waited for it. I like the fact you don't have to lift the cover every time you close the tailgate. I don't think you will be disappointed with it. Mine has been a great add on for me.

I just bought a backflip f1 and it is already leaking. Only had it 2 weeks. They said if I destroy the cover and send them a picture of it they will send me a replacement. In the meantime I have to load and unload all of my tools every morning and night. I wouldn't buy another one.

Nice looking cover...can't tell if it still rests on cab when fully opened...actually like the new X2 from them...one of the newer members has one on his truck. Too many choices. Post up some pics when its decided and on.

I just recently received the F1 cover and its still in the box. but after doing some searching I came across the MX4. I like the fact that it has the thicker foam and weight capacity, the tail gate can shut without lifting the cover up, plus it's powder coated aluminum matte black. Since it's so new some retailers don't have their website updated with it yet. I'm going to exchange the F1 for the MX4. The guy at a line x dealer mentioned fading issues with the fiberglass covers and that he doesn't sell them anymore due to that problem he will sell the G2 or the VP for the extra UV durability. The MX4 should match the UV durability of the G2 seeing as they are both powder coated.

Hey guys, thank you all for the input. I got a quote for the MX4 for $1,100, so I'm going to pull the trigger. The cover is on back order and going to take about 4 wks to come in. I will update with pictures and review.
If you're gonna spend that kind of money I'd get the retrax instead. Its been an almost perfect cover for me.
I love the look of the retrax cover. However in Canada they seem to be alot more money then the $1,100 price of the MX4. I even got a quote from Action truck accessories of $1,600. I'm still going to look into the retrax bed cover and see if can get a better price. Thanks for your suggestion.
From what I have been reading online the retrax have terrible reliability and their limited lifetime warranty is pro rated.
