Very interesting. I'm surprised how well hotshots did, I will have to try some when I run out of powerservice. Though I think it's important to note that, with the exception of the gel test, none of the additives were mixed with fuel. While it would be difficult to do with his wear test (heat+fuel=fire), It would be interesting to see the results of the corrosion test with each additive mixed with fuel. it may change the results.
When you add your fuel additive (whatever it may be) do you:
1. Add to your tank at the fueling station, then proceed to fill up with diesel
2. Fill up the truck, go home, then add the additive.
I've always done the first way but the second way would be much more convenient.
My 2017 is coming to it's end-of-lease in March. It's been GDE tuned since about new and has been a great truck. Based on the price of a new replacement, I'm contemplating a buyout. Curious if anyone has negotiated with Ally or their lease provider given the troublesome recalls associated...
Driving along cold watching temps go up and notice oil lagging farther behind coolant than usual. Typically they stay within 5 degrees of each other. Once warmed up per coolant at 200ish, I noticed the oil dipping to 180 then back up, then one point dipped to 172 stayed a moment then creeped...
Ugggghhh... Just lost the reluctor wheel I'm pretty sure. Pulled out onto a main road started accelerating, moderately, a little hesitation or two, and dead. Pulled over to side of the road. Tried to recrank and engine just spins. Had to be towed to the house. See a trip to the dealer coming on...
Have a question on interchangeably
I have access to a 2015 ECM GDE hot tune. I have a 2019 and was wondering if anyone has experience with this? I’ve been told about the DEF sensor in the 2019 and not the 2015 but hoping someone knows if this is an issue
