I'm curious, would this method destroy out cooling systems? Could this be used to get oil out of the system? I am still fairly new to diesels, I've had mine 18 months. Sorry if this is common sense in the community. :)

Thats an okay method for a shade tree mechanic but it doesn't work great. But its clear he is a shade tree mechanic at best. Flushing our cooling systems while getting them clean is more difficult and time consuming.

Would it hurt to do it this way? May not be as effective as other methods, but I am mostly wondering if using the coolant flush chemical and distilled water would damage anything?

I know with the 3 way valve and everything in our systems it wouldn't clean all of it our.

Doing it his way would just lead to wearing out the drain valve on the radiator (learned that the hard way) but there is decent flush chemicals out there and distilled water is fine as long as there is light to no load put on the engine.
