Current Engine Availability

My 2015 w/ 110k miles needs a new engine. The local dealer in Northern California said that they did have one engine in stock but that all of the engines were recalled for quality control issues. The Service Advisor gave me an ETA of 4 -6 weeks but the Service Manager told me that there's no ETA.

Does anybody have an idea of what the current availability is for replacement engines?

Is this covered by warranty?

Not quite, I'm out of warranty. However, they're covering the engine & parts and I'm covering the labor.

Possibly, I guess. Is the HPFP in the engine or fuel tank? 🤷‍♂️

You hit the jackpot if they're covering the parts when you're 2-3 years and 10K miles out of warranty!

I got a new engine in April, dealer had the new one installed and ready to go in less than 2 weeks. But - the HPFP recall is still open.

Ok, thanks for the info. My guess is that the available replacement engines were sent back to have the HPFP recall work done before they're installed in customer's trucks. But I have no proof of that, just a hunch.

Do you know how much the labor was to install your new engine? I'm hearing $3,500
