Cylinder heads

I have a 2014 eco and it’s in the shop at 76000km to have cylinder heads replaced. This is the second set of cylinder heads to go in . This is due to s vibration at about 2000 rpm. I had a chance to look at the motor while it was apart and I noticed two of the middles ports on the intake that bolds on the heads had a lot of wet soot on them . Is this normal. I thought the intake has no liquids going through it , just hot and cold air. I ask the tech about this and he said was nothing to worry about. My mileage ( 12L / 100km) since 10,000 km has been bad and since they couldn’t explain or repair it I now worry about everything thing that seems of. Should worry about this .

I would suspect a leak as well, but what's the vibration? Mine sends a vibration through the cab when towing the camper. But nothing funny like a rough idle.

Out of curiosity, why can the catch can be a controversial subject? There's no harm in installing one. If I were planning to keep my Ecodiesel, I would have one.

..
in New Mexico sure , in cold weather region not recommended , for condensation freezes and blocks pipes
then the rear seal on the engine pops out , that is what GDE posted . ===> controversial

I have seen this Bio , in 2014 left Colorado , had to make it thru the Pass before 2PM , big snow storm moving in ,
then got to Durango , 70 degree weather there ..., you get it all , nice part of America to live in , Utah and Arizona was even nicer
we were on rented Motos from Phoenix

Yeah, we really love the four corners area. We have a few different properties, but the home that we mostly live in is approximately 160 miles south of Durango and 185 miles east of Flagstaff. Moab is 248 miles. Chama, Red River, Taos, Santa Fe, and Angel Fire are great places in northern New Mexico. As for temperature, it was in the 40's this morning. And today's high will be in the low 90's. The temperature does fluctuate a lot. Our last snow is usually in May. But, we have very little humidity and the air is thin at this elevation. Cold temps are nothing compared to lower elevations with humidity!

Limpho - There were head issues with some 2014's. Some were replaced. Yours was replaced and now there's more issues. That's very unusual. Something else may be causing this.

As it plays out, do some updates.
