How's it going guys? I currently am running the JGC EcoDiesel but am considering switching over to the RAM1500 EcoDiesel soon after.

Well, I've got almost 20K miles on my JGC EcoDiesel now and ran into the first major bump in the road. The first check engine light I got was accompanied by a message reading "Incorrect DEF, please see dealer". Several miles down the road the message then displayed "Incorrect DEF, engine will not restart in 160 miles, see dealer." After taking it to the dealer and having them look at everything they told me I could take the vehicle and as long as I filled up the DEF tank, I would be fine, even if I ran the mile counter down. The dealer had to order the entire DEF tank, not just replace the sensor (I'm guessing the sensor probably sits at the bottom of the tank and might not seal back well if removed and replaced). I took my Jeep and did not go against better judgement (weekend ruined as I was supposed to take a 600 mile round trip out of town), ran the miles down driving around locally but shut her off at my front door. Not to my surprise, the motor did not start (likely the bad sensor in the DEF tank cuts off power to the glow plugs, not allowing them to heat up). 2 weeks later... still waiting on parts as I am told by the dealer.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience.

Howie... DEF was added by the dealer.

Anyways... they "repaired" it but still could not get rid of the error code. Lemon? Possibly. I'm working it out with Chrysler Corp and they are agreeing to purchase the vehicle back. I'll be moving into a 1500 ED next.

JGC ED vs 1500 ED...Identical drivetrain...identical issues. I'm reading all the threads on here and the 1500 ED folks are starting to have all the growing pains us JGC ED owners have had.

Chrysler is aware of the DEF and CAT issues as well as the ZF 8 speed shudder issue. A redesigned CAT is rumored to be in the works and another TCM flash is due for the shuddering issue.

I've had my JGC diesel since Nov 2013. I hope CDJ engineering puts their full weight into this because your trucks outnumber the JGC in sales by a large margin...and the screaming heard from owners who's trucks are stuck in the shop will be deafening.
