Quite interesting but not so traditional. The 5.1L I-4 powerplant can produce up to 240 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque. the engine earned a B10 life expectancy of 400,000 miles (this means that within 400,000 miles, only 10 percent of the engines produced will possibly need some type of major repair). Not a lightweight though so probably won't make it into a half ton truck or perhaps not even a 3/4-1 ton.

Lubrication Capacity: 18 quarts (17.5L)
Dry Weight: 1,188 pounds (539 kg)
Length: 32.4 inches (823mm)
Width: 27 inches (688mm)
Height: 33.5 inches (853mm)

It's a little big to replace the CTD without anything to show for it.
...it would have to go on a diet... starting with the 4.5 gallons of oil in the sump

I can’t see any interest in it to replace the 6.7 unless it can deliver much better fuel economy. Don’t think much of anyone is going to trade 400/1000 hp/tq for 240/600.

I am familiar with the products they have offered over the years they where great products very much ingrained in Canadian Industrial History so what are they putting this in ? sounds to me like you would be talking 2500 or more likely 3500 ?

I don't know which truck this might end up in but I would buy it in a heart beat I know some of their stuff and this would be a very very durable reliable engine.

Power numbers seem close to a DT466 yet 450lbs less weight. Seems reasonable for Medium duty box trucks, wreckers, school buses, and even some warehouse yard tractors. Likely overbuilt for 1 ton p/u and below.

perhaps that sump gives it a 20,000 mile oil change interval?
