I can't wait to fill up and see the hand calculation.

Using the same Rv, so it's a good comparison, yesterday while towing down I-15 through the Salt Lake City area, mostly flat and even, no wind, my speed was 60 mph, the "lie-O-meter", after filling up in the morning, kept ticking up, and up, and up.

Through 14 mpg, 15 mpg, 16 MPG, and topped at 16.4 mpg. My old Ecodiesel didn't do that good while towing. Then we hit a pass, and it's now at 15.1 mpg. This is outstanding mileage. Just super keen. On this trip the Evic has been rather accurate. Yesterday's fill up mileage was at 13.6 mpg, very good for me. The Evic said 13.3. Mostly the Evic has been staying within plus/minus .5 mpg. Even at 13.5 mpg, with all the tall 7,000 foot passes we went over the other day, is right in there what the old Ecodiesel did.

This long drive of towing (4000 plus miles) is doing nice things to this engine. Not a drop of oil used, it's breaking in real nice. I can feel the better power since starting on this trip. Since leaving Palmer, Alaska, no regenerations.

I also notice with the 2500 is this while towing. Semi's are NOT pushing me around at ALL!

I'll check back in a day or so with the hand calculated mileage.

This is the reason moving up to the 2500 is really appealing to me, given the concerns over the Gen 2 engine. Almost all of my miles are towing ~6500 lbs, so if both vehicles get roughly the same mileage, that makes it almost a slam dunk. Keep posting your results.

Now if the prices would just come back down out of the stratosphere ...

Want to trade my EVIC for yours? Thank goodness for hand calculation or I would have no real comparison. We are close though. Since my truck is at the dealer right now getting the injector pump changed out, they could do the swap right now. Then your EVIC would show even better fuel mileage.

My repeated reports are that while towing the same toy hauler RV, my Cummins gives me very close to the same fuel mileage as the Ecodiesel did. To me the difference was around 1/2 mpg. Will be interested to find out your calculated mileage. Enjoy the ride

The hand calculation was 14.3 mpg after a long climb at the end. The evic said 15 mpg.

Today I filled up after over 300 miles, over some more long high grades, through Monument Valley, 13.55 mpg, evic said 14 mpg. Afterwards I again saw 16 mpg on the evic.

The reliability factor was a major buying point with the Cummings.

Your trailer is either lighter than my toy hauler, has less wind resistance or both. Doubt I can do 14 mpg under any but perfect towing conditions. 13-13.5 is typically tops for me, though I tend to maybe go a bit faster than most.

I drove a constant 60 mph, any faster kills mileage. It was one of those perfect days, light variable winds, flat terrain, and constant no stop/starting to achieve this mpg.

I assume your toy hauler is hauling toys and your weight would be more. Someday soon we'll be buying a bigger RV, and we will lose milage.

Still, going from the 2017 Ecodiesel to the 2021 2500 6.7 using the same old load is telling.

I'm real happy with this truck, all paid for too.

Now that I have the CP3 injector pump I will be looking at fuel mileage again.

Next tow will be a light one to Georgia and back in a couple weeks. Having made that run many times with the same trailer, I know that 16-17 mpg is what I normally get. Will have a reasonable comparison after that ride.

Update after 400 miles towing my 10’ trailer. Ran mostly 80 mph to get to Georgia and watch Steeler game. Did. Stopped to fuel.

18.6 hand calculated. Is it that good because of the CP3?

That is Ecodiesel mileage towing that trailer slower. Lots more running to do before I have a firm conclusion.
