Maybe yours is different than my 2014, After a couple hundred miles my avg, trip A, and trip B all read the same.
I have had a time or two, different mpg readings between the average fuel economy display, and the A and B trip meters, even when set to zero at the same time. The difference was never more than a few tenths though.

Well I guess I'll need to pay a little more attention to how those avg numbers change before I can say for certain. I'm also dealing with km instead of miles

It's good to get a good sense on how many miles you can go on a tank when towing down the Alaska Hwy. The distances between fillups can be a long and anxious stretch of driving! With #1 diesel, headwinds and mountains, can conspire to really drop mileage.

Pencil and paper never fail me.
