Why stop the regen? Might as well see if it completes. It's normal not to smell DEF during a regen. The DEF system is not active during the regen.
Thank you for the reply. I guess I was just being paranoid. There was a burnt smell coming from the truck and I was worried about messing something up. It ran for a little over ten minutes with no change, so i thought it might not work properly with the see dealer message on the screen. After a little more research I guess the time and smell is normal for a stationary regen. I'll start it again tonight and report back.

Yes, the time, smell and heat is normal. Give it another try. It can take 15-20 minutes.

I finally had time to run the regen process again today. Everything worked flawlessly! It took 25 minutes almost to the T.

For anyone running this process in the future, if your truck still shows the "See Dealer for service" notice on the screen, don't worry. As long as you can get the regen process to start, it will complete the procedure.

Thank you to everyone for all of the advice, knowledge and willingness to help others out on this forum!

Ok so my 2018 said it was in regeneration @80%. So I did what it said and drove over 400 miles to work at highway speeds (In the snow) to go to work. Now it still says in regeneration and 100% now that stupid code popped up and it says in limp mode.
So here is my question, why didn't it finish regeneration while I was driving so far now I have to take it in to see if they can get it to complete or can I still force it because it says it already started regeneration?

Either a bad sensor or it didn't reach correct operating temp for the regen to complete, likely due to the snow you were driving in at the time. Were you using a winter grille cover?

I just got the oil changed and an update on the system. It literally just got out of the shop on Monday for crazy codes that kept popping up. System update fixed that. I got 100 miles from home and I got exhaust filter 80% full drive at highway speeds to remedy so I continued to work 300 more miles. 50 miles away DEF code popped up. So I fixed that when I got here but the filter was now at 90% 2 days later 100% but it was still saying in regeneration. Now in limp mode. 🤬 Never finished the regeneration now I can't get in to a mechanic until next week. So oil life is at 95%.

You can usually force a parked regen once all trouble codes are cleared. Maybe someone here can give you precise steps.

Requires the ALfaOBD app on an Android device, and an OBD dongle.

Oh, I was hoping that I could still do it without that. Because I don't have one of those all I have is a plan old code reader that allows me to erase the codes. I tried that and it wouldn't take care of it. Oh well I am trying to get in with a dealer before the end of the month and my only days off are Sundays 😒.
