333 miles on my new Ram 1500 and the mil (check eng. light) is on. Dealer says it shows codes for EGR. Has this been a known problem or just my bad luck? Now
I have the problem of finding someone to work on it. Seems the dealer's service department that I bought it from doesn't have anyone qualified that can work on the diesel engine. Is this more bad luck? Should it be safe to drive until I find a dealer with a qualified mechanic?

Call customer service from Ram and complain. If there is an issue... you shouldn't be inconvenienced. THEY need to take care of it for you.

But, other than some loose bolts... no one has had an EGR problem yet.

I had the problem with the EGR and it was that they forgot to tighten the bolts on a cross tube. I had exhaust fumes in the cab and smoke from under the hood. I never had a light come on though.
