Reading up on the ED today a bit.

After owning two Ford Powerstrokes, I gladly embraced the grid heater idea on the Cummins. Haven't ever had a starting problem on the Cummins. Powerstroke was a bear to start if you didn't plug it in. I probably had bad glow plugs or g.p. relay. Hated glow plugs. With a passion.

Any ideas on the glow plugs or design on this ED? Any better than Ford's?

the new ED has plugs. But... the Cummins engine was just a great engine. Guys would remove the grid heater, and they would still start in the cold.

Found it! All nice and coiled up right beside the right headlight on top!

I saw a video of -30 or something stupid like that;no block heater and remote started the a 2500. Talked to someone that said the same thing of the Eco diesel in -10 or -20, same thing. Just sat there for a while, while the glow plugs cycled, but started right up.
