Intake Cleaning???

the best way to slow this down is deleting the EGR and installing a catch can. I have a provent 200 and I get about 4 oz of oil every 10,00KM. I would say if you're actually worried about it the only way to really clean the intake is to take it apart like Shawn did and clean it manually. maybe around the 250,000 mile mark or something.
or just egr delete. the tiny amounts of oil droplets will have negligible impacts. i think there was another thread that proved the amount of oil was utterly miniscule.

View attachment 61658 Depends on the truck and conditions, this what my catch can caught in the first couple thousand miles. Definitely not what I consider tiny amounts.
i dont have a catch can but i m tuned. i do not have much other than very very ight and clear oily residue on the insides of my intake pipes.

broken, thats still not a lot. figure 2k mi? that looks like a few ounces, maybe 3?. we are talking in the realm of .001 to .003 oz per mile. most of that is just ambient moisture in the air that your engine will ingest regardless.

keep in mind, adding a catch can creates a critical point of failure. if you let it fill and it freezes or clogs, you blow out your rear main seal.

no thanks.

if it makes you sleep better at night, i say cheers. i will keep the $200+ in my wallet and have less plumbing and maintenance.

Typically mine is nice think black goo but if I just drive back and forth to work which is 3 miles for a coupe weeks then go drag my trailer it catchs some moisture. Shaggn mine is tuned as well it makes 0 difference on the ccv system, tuned or not.
i didnt insinuate that tuning affected the ccv system. merely pointing out my observations with disclosure about mods to my truck. with that short a commute, id be concerned about water in your sump beating your bearings and cams up more than a tiny bit of ccv goo. that water is just building each time u dont get it to full temp.
