I disagree (respectfully) that the fix will be easy.... and am actually afraid that they will implement an easy fix. Think about it. In the situations where the ED is not NOx compliant, for example, it's not because an engineer said, "hey, let's screw up the environment during this time!" No, it is a lot more complicated. I think in many of these cases the trade-off was on engine/sensor longevity versus emissions. We've all seen the really ugly pictures of clogged up EGR passages, etc. In high-speed (freeway) cruise, FCA renders the EGR off. If the software fix is to NOT render it off - what effects will this have on other "constraints". There was likely a lot of motivation to remain compliant ALL the time, so what the engineers were trying to protect against cannot be trivial. FCA has to do what they have to do. Long live GDE.
