Its not the injectors start with basic things like what does the dash say while cranking.
The check engine light is on, as well as the traction control light. the dash reads: Service electronic braking system. Its not the injectors start with basic things like what does the dash say while cranking.
Did you swap the crankshaft tone wheel from the seized engine to the new engine?Hello fellows,
I posted a thread a week ago or so about a part I couldn't find a location for. You all helped me with that, so now I have another question.
I have a 2016 EcoDiesel Bighorn. I bought the truck with seized engine and put a brand new crate engine in it. Now I am ready to start it, but it will only crank. There are no codes. I ran the key part way on, to bleed the fuel probably a dozen times and cranked it for quite a while.
I programed the injectors, checked most of the electrical connectors and checked all the grounds.
I am thinking either I am not getting fuel to injectors or else not getting power to them. Have any of you experienced this or have any ideas on how to test the injectors?
Thanks in advance!
No I didn't. I assumed the new engine came with one. It came with the flywheel so I would have had to pull it off to check and I didn't. That's a really good thought. I will have to look into it.Did you swap the crankshaft tone wheel from the seized engine to the new engine?
Hello Crosshairs , are you saying the new crate engines come with no tone ring ??Did you swap the crankshaft tone wheel from the seized engine to the new engine?
I have never seen one come with a fly wheel so if it did have the fly wheel already attached to the engine, then I would also assume that the tone ring is thereNo I didn't. Better than a missing tone wheel (or a sharp stick in the eye as my grandpappy used to say)!Well fellows, I thought I would update you. I took it into the dealer today and paid them $340 to discover I hooked up the fuel lines wrong, put the pressure on the return line and vice versa, so there was no fuel getting to the high pressure pump. Sigh...
Oh well. Live and learn! Thank you all for your input.
