New to ram and ecodiesel

I will echo what other's have said - these engines have been known for premature and costly failures, others have had no issue with great reliability and high mileage.

I would recommend reading through this thread regarding recommended maintenance on the 2014-2019 Gen2 platform from the "Ecodiesel whisperer" @VernDiesel . Some great insights and examples of how proper maintenance can help prolong the truck's working life.

I agree 100% with properly maintaining any vehicle. Unfortunately with the Ecodiesel, you either get a good one or you don't. In my opinion, If you get one that's prone to failure there's nothing that's going to prevent the failure. Early on when these engines were failing at a rate of over 200 per month, I doubt anything would have prevented those failures.
