Went for a drive today and things seem to be working pretty nicely. Got to experience my 1st Regen, mission accomplished! You'll notice I have Avg Regen Time showing on display window 2 as 6 hours, and Avg Distance between Regens 205 as display DPF Distance. For that reason, I decided to add a Trip Meter Display below it so that the trip meter can be manually set to Zero upon completion of a Regen. This enables me to measure the distance between regens so as I approach the average it will act as another indication of an eminent regen. For me, it's just another gauge that would corroborate all the other gauges it indicate when a Regen is eminent. The Trip Reset button works as expected.

Does anyone know of a PID for Trip Time? Not Average Time between Regens, just a regular plain old trip meter that records time and is cleared only when manually reset. I'm hoping the Trip Reset Button will reset both once I add the Trip meter for time.

Still searching for an inexpensive tablet I can use.

I did some googling yesterday while the kiddos were at swim practice. Looks like a third party app is needed to make it work, but people have done it!

I just watched this video. Although he makes reference to Torque Pro, he doesn't illustrate installing Torque Pro nor uses it. Instead he's installed Android Auto which is appears to be a similar app to Torque Pro and displays that, so I'm not sure it would work, has anyone tried it yet and if so any success?
@Crash68
@Bounty Hunter

This is what it looked like for my ~50 mile drive to work today. Soot pegged at 100% the whole way. 99% interstate drive, cruise set at 75mph.

New to the forum and I have this app for other vehicles, namely my new KTM... I have a 21 Ram 3.0 Ecodiesel and had all kinds of questions about my regen process... I don't see a way to get the soot % and regen mode buttons on as a display. For DPF all I have is pressure and temperature.... Help please!

Check out post #316. HillBilli put all the PIDS discussed in this thread up to that point. If you don't find what your looking for, you might have to scroll through the balance...I'm gone through this entire thread a few times myself...

Being the 3rd gen engine uses a high/low EGR system, you probably would need to formulate a new PID to read the data from the ECU.

Thanks!
Just installed Android 12 on a Pixel 3 and now Torque Pro won't run. We need an update.

Same thing happened when Android 11 was released, Torque app stopped working and the developer had it fixed in a couple of weeks.
I just received an update for Torque Pro and it seems to be working again. At least the app opens. I have not connected it to the truck yet.
Does anyone have the pid for turbo rpm
There is no turbo speed sensor on these

But there is turbo pressure. That is what i use. I got it from post #37 from earlier in the thread:

PID: 016f
Long Name: Turbo Inlet Pressure EcoD
Short Name: TURB IN P
Minimum value: 0
Maximum value: 255
Scale Factor: 1x
Unit Type: kPa
Equation: B
I’m still in search of my current gear pid… anyone know that one?
You can easily add a real oil pressure sensor if you want one. I was lucky and able to get one from my tuner so it reads real oil pressure on the instrument cluster.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the vehicle has any way of actually reading the pressure, hence the algorithm
..unless you bought a sensor and wired it into ecu your programmer couldn't have done it
Maybe temp but not pressure
So I finally took possession of a 10" Android Tablet. Might sound a bit big, but it's certainly easy on the eyeballs. I'm still in the process of setting up the gauges and continue to review this entire thread because I don't want to ask a question if it's already been answered previously.

One of the things I'm hoping to do is have the ability to manually force a regen. The question has been asked twice (Post 292 & 386) but no replies, so I'm going to assume it can't be done?

I also came across the "Push Button" display that apparently allows several features, like take a Screen Shot which could come in handy. More importantly it offers a "Send OBD Command" as well and I'm wondering if anyone is aware of an OBD command that could be used to initiate a REGEN?
Alfa is cheapest way to force a regen, most active thing torque will do is clear some codes

Android auto is what the screen mirroring you see there is emulating...Android auto is just a way to see what your phone has on its screen and manipulate it...unless the radio is a true Android operating system that's the best bet....they do have the tesla type screens for our trucks for between 599-1300 , still much cheaper than trying to go thru infotainment to upgrade to apple/Android auto capable head units as ram didn't have them till 2018

Ok, I'll correct you because you are wrong. The single-wire used with the OEM pressure sensor isn't capable of reading pressure with a true pressure sensor. A true pressure sensor requires 2 or 3 wire lead.

The GDE tune option I had replaced the oil pressure sensor below the filter with a true multi-wire sensor that read actual pressure. This required the 3-wire lead to the CCV sensor to be run down to the new pressure sensor. GDE made the change in the ECM for this to work properly.

Tell me again how it can't be done.

Pretty automatically defensive, I did preface with correct me it I'm wrong. I did not see the comment regarding the addition wiring/physical sensor. Simply went of the understanding that all of the ecods stock pressures are based algorthimcally.

I stand corrected and was unaware gde had the option, honestly wish it was something I could add to my tune, however gde won't touch my tune now with all the epa bs....I'd also love to get their transmission tune, but I refuse to re-enable the egr valve.
Not sure if there was a bad update or what but I cannot find the transmission temperature anymore. Maybe I need to add it as a just custom PID? Searched through this thread and couldn't find a post with the transmission temperature PID. Anyone?

Rusty, I think I have it as one of my "dysplayed" PID's on my tablet, I will check later this afternoon ;) currently away from truck and tablet:oops:

Just checked 😢 And I DO NOT have a PID using the torque pro app, I also looked in my "Alpha OBD" and under the "scan" function found Transmission Fluid Temperature, C, so that may have been what I looked at a couple of times:unsure: I probably need/should add a PID for mine too, would be a good idea to monitor while towing, I also posted (the next post) something I had saved previously, not sure where I found it or where it came from or what vehicle it was intended for😬
