I'm in question on what the standard oil temp should run 2014 Laramie 4x4
Newer motor generation 6 factory out of Italy. First motor spun a rod bearing totaled. 28,000 miles. Original was running 230 to 240 temp. As a new owner I was concerned but not to worried until it bit it.
New motor runs 10 to 14 deg. Above water temp at 210 degrees. Until I'm climbing hills at highway speeds. It went up to 235 easy empty, I backed my speed down by 10 plus, and all was good. This was a Nevada, California trip, first trip with New motor.
Thank you for having me as a member!

That seems to be on the hot side of things to me. I generally see about 230+\- towing a 5000 lb boat in south Texas summers.

As a point of reference, I have 2 of these trucks at the moment (both are 2015 models). The first has about 2500 miles on a factory long block. The 2nd has about 750 miles on an engine that I tore down and rebuilt.

Both run about 205F - 212F under normal conditions (not towing). The factory long block has slightly higher oil pressure (about 1-2 psi) throughout the RPM spectrum. The indicated oil pressure will range from 18 psi @ 550 rpm (warmed up) to 65 psi @ 2000 rpm (cold).

I have seen the oil temperature go as high as 221F going up a long hill towing an empty trailer, but never higher.
