What’s your opinion now with your dealership?
They're Idiots..... Service manager was hired a week after my truck got there. I've since been told by multiple people, they are horrible.... But I'm kinda stuck there now.... I went to grab something from my console I needed, and when I got to the Bay.... Mechanic was watching a movie....

Maybe it was his lunch time, But none the less.

This just might be the saga of all sagas on how inept some dealerships are.

Appreciate the follow-ups. Sorry but guessing it is not over yet. You sure have a positive attitude.

Picked up Truck today.

Dealer called me, Said Truck is running.

Asked If I would allow Service Manager to Take it home, for a extended test drive, I declined. Said, I'd come get it, because I need to go pick up my camper tomorrow anyway. Figure if that isn't the stress test, nothing is.

I show up at dealer, about 30 minutes after call. Go in lot, find truck.... It's Filthy, You know like it's been sitting in the shop for 52 day or something..... Grease everywhere. dusty Just a mess....

I wait for Service adviser to finish with other customer, and I said "you've had this truck for 51 days and you couldn't wash it?" He immediately says they will take care of it.... But he wanted me to test drive it and make sure everything is good..... Fair enough..... I go transfer a few things from loaner...

Back at my truck,
Walking around it... I notice the drivers door, where obviously a tech opened the door into a lift.....:mad::mad:

I go grab service guy, He like "that's obviously new, We will take care of it...." I take picture, and send to service manager as well....

I tell him my go get the camper plan, and I'd be back on Thursday with Results and for a bath!

Oh my.

Earlier I said I did not think the saga was over. Sorry I was right.

You still have the best attitude of anyone. So many would be out of control and doing little but making trouble for everyone. Keep up the polite and firm pressure.

the fact they insisted more than once for you to go test drive it , worries me ...
they probably don't like the way it runs , and wonder if you will just take it " as is ".
Good Luck . let us know how it goes.

Update: Took the truck about 200 miles round trip. No CEL so that was a plus.

Trip there, Averaged 24.7 MPG mainly doing 61mph and 76 mph This seems fairly low.....
Trip back. Averaged 11.2 MPG mainly doing 61mph and 66mph (I generally don't go above 66-67 when towing)

Otherwise Truck seemed to run decent... I have however not driven it in 51 days, and have been driving the 2018 (which already had the handcuffs on)
Temps stayed decent the entire trip... soot level was at 37 when i left was just under 70 when i got to house

Got Email from Service manager that they will take care of door at my convenience

I'm going to run it for a couple weeks pull the camper to TN in early Sept. Then I'm going to GDE it (if all goes well) I'd like to do it before then, But I just wont have the time...

So I received a response to my inquiry about a buyback of my truck from FCA.

Good morning,
I have sent the case for review and it was sent back to me. You will need to file with your state for the lemon law. There is a warranty booklet in the glove box with the information to fill out. Also below I will add the information for the national center for dispute. They maybe able to assist as well.

Thank you,

So I immediately write her back and say " What about reimbursing me for my Tow to the dealership?"
I instantly get a reply that my case has been closed.
then I get a reply from her stating

Good afternoon,
I do apologize I am unable to provide a reimbursement at this time do to the vehicle being involved with the settlement.

Thank you,
Jessica
So am I to believe that towing is not included in the AEM warranty?

sometimes I wonder how FCA can be so dumb to approve all the previous stuff to be done under warranty ,
then finally approve the really needed stuff .

Like replacing the HPFP  One thing the OP mentioned was the Service Manager is s only on the job for a week , Kazimodo the folks on this website have a pretty good advantage with diagnosis over a newbie or slightly trained technician still wet behind the ears, we observed many of folks having reluctor ring failures giving the forum members a really good clue, especially if it happened to a member...

Now in regards to the New Service Manager for only 1 week , I’d guess theirs a Service Bulletin aka TSB with an accurate description on Reluctor Ring failures, Now this is the Service Managers job to keep updated with future failure issues TSB’s to keep the shop foreman informed on what’s going on .This guys only been on the job for 1 week , still in a learning process, unfortunately for the OP they were learning on his truck..

1 week of experience , but that wi-tech device , letting them change the crankshaft position sensor ,
and not changing the reluctor ring , should give the managers and techs more guidance ,,,,
the least expensive part of the 2 ( only defective item I'm sure ) was left in there ,while they
had the transmission away from the engine ,,,the sensor had to read a ring that's missing some code bars on it ,
the sensor it not defective , put everything back together , to realise they have to undo it all
to replace the reluctor ring , they were right there before ....not blaming only the green manager for that,
the big picture is too much personnal opinion from the managers , initiative left to the dealer on steps to follow
in that fix , simple directives , if you change the position sensor at $ 565 , you change the $ 75 ring while you are in there .
FCA seems to not care paying twice .
it gives reasons to start drinking early ...
