My 2018 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel threw a rod after only 32K miles. Common story, I know. Warranty was denied because the previous owner got his first oil change at 10,800 (recommended interval is 10k). My local Ram dealership sold me the truck with a valid warranty even though they knew the oil had been changed at 10,800. I kow this becasue they provided the CarFax which indicated the 10,800 mile oil change. My lawyer is confident we have a solid case but I need some info I hope you all can help with.
My lawyer wants to know the block and head material. Evidently there are several head/block combinations made of aluminum and/or cast iron. I called my local service/parts department and they gave me part numbers but their catalogs don't show material. A web search didn't get me any closer to knowing whether by block and heads are aluminum vs. cast iron. Does anyone have a source for such info? Here are the part numbers:
Driver's side head: 68483336AA
Block: 68229157AA
Thanks in advance!
