Anyone got this repair done yet? My local dealer/repair shop says parts are not available yet, and I've not received any electronic notices (I signed up).

When you log into Mymopar and see something to the effect of "No repair parts available" or "No repair option available" that's going to tell you that nobody has had the repair done yet. Best thing to do is get on the dealer's service department list so they can order and have your recall parts on hand when they do come available.

I logged in a few days ago to look at the Z46 recall PDF I received an error message & it wouldn't open or download. I talked with a gentleman on another forum that had the repair done(according to the dealer), I directed him to the MOPAR page, posted the recall & the info from the MOPAR page and let him know that he'd been lied to and was also charged for a bunch of BS service work, I advised him to find a different dealer.

It sure would be nice if they actually got the ball rolling on this recall,, my truck has been down sense July sense my hpfp went kaput. Wouldn’t be so upset if I wasn’t still paying $500/month on the thing. Especially sense they’re not gonna do anything about it til the end of Q1 2023 so I’m looking at an additional 2-4 months after that…

I’m not trying to bash one of these dealers as they are the ones who originally sold the truck to the guy I bought it off of they’ve done all the work on it and whatnot. It was more of a “we can’t do anything about it til we are told to” type of thing. The other one tho, the other one is known to be a bad dealer but it’s the one in my town so that’s the one I tried first.

Lemon law is a wonderful thing A. If it's a thing in your state and B. If you purchased the vehicle new

Ford had massive delays in getting my 6.7 powerstroke back together when the 2nd engine grenaded and after some research I discovered my state lemon law has a 45 day limit on OEM parts availability. No parts, start lemon law proceedings. Check your local lemon laws and get rid of it.

If you're not under warranty, you pay for the HPFP replacement and apply for reimbursement from FCA.

Or be the squeaky wheel with Ram Customer Service and try to get them to authorize replacement up front.

That's what I said what case? My truck isn't fixed. Parts aren't available and who knows when they will be. But I gotta keep making that monthy payment . And customer support has been a joke. Nothing but a headache and stress . I just wanted a new , dependable truck to drive to work. I do quite a bit of traveling with my job and didn't want to be stranded on the roadside. 20,000 miles and ..... stranded 3 1/2 hours from home. No truck for almost 6 months... LEMON

You have really been done wrong! Notice the two posts before this are from people who had their HPFPs replaced during the 4 1/2 months yours was sitting with "no parts available"! I think the dealer owes you four months of loan payments or loaner (equal value) rental payments, but what I think doesn't count for much.

That’s far worse than my situation. Wow. That sucks.
I called FCA US and was told I’ll get a case specialist calling back Thursday 15th. I also retained an attorney, just to get an equivalent loaner locally. (Mine’s a ‘15 Bighorn crew cab 4wd fwiw.) I’m exploring CA’s lemon law details, too.
Yes, a new currently available (albeit flawed) HPFP should be put on and I should then return after March 30 or whatever. The local dealer did that… and it failed. I read that the EGR is at fault, too: the root problem, if I understand correctly. That explains a creaky noise coming from the center of the firewall after I shut the truck down: a weird gurgle-moan-creak noise that now (in hindsight) seems very likely coming from a cooling EGR.
Is there no standard approach required of FCA to assuage customers? I have more reading to do. Thus far, they seem to just hope people will give up and accept an empty apology.

I doubt there's any lemon law that applies to a seven-year old vehicle.

Are you saying that they replaced a failed HPFP and the replacement failed? Was the first one replaced under some extended warranty?

I don't believe that the EGR has anything to do with HPFP failures.

Sent my 21' Limited EcoDiesel in today for oil change, winter tires etc. Spoke to the service manager who said the recall part (HPFP) is coming at some point in the future. Anyone else
experiencing issues with a grinding (vibration) in the steering column on slow right turns? Asking them to look into it. Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday to everyone..

The HPFP went out on my 16' on November 11th. I was able to make it to the Westgate Dodge dealership here in Raleigh where it sits today. I was told earlier this week that all the parts are in and they should have the truck repaired next week. Was told all work is covered under warranty except for one section of fuel rail. Dealership told me the section of fuel rail was not required to be replaced but was highly recommended. What section of fuel rail are they talking about and why wouldn't the entire fuel system be covered by warranty of the majority of it is?

Wow! That really sucks, Klittsy93. Zero f***s given by Ram. Ram clearly does not care, as words mean nothing and action means everything. I wonder, then, why my local dealer did just that - attempted to get the truck running with a new working CP4 pump and your dealer didn’t. (I really wonder why that fix didn't work...) Interesting that a recall/settlement doesn't include providing the affected party w an equivalent replacement. That Perhaps Ram doesn’t see the importance of retaining customers in the longer run, or the power of social and other media to display Ram’s greed. But we should feel good that Carlos Tavares, Stellantis’ CEO, makes around $20,000,000 per year operating this way. Ya don’t get rich giving people loaner vehicles for nothin’!

FWIW I learned today from a CA lemon law attorney that since I purchased the truck from a private party, I have no lemon law recourse.

Yep I’m pretty much stuck with it, I will loose too much money trading it in to the dealer, selling it to the dealer or selling to private party. It’s just easier to bite the billet and keep paying on it every month, I even contacted the FCA (like that actually meant something) and they told me the same thing, they asked me if there was anything more they could do, I replied yes either make my $500/month truck payment or give me a loaner till mine is fixed just so it makes it feel worth wile to make the damn payment. And I got a resounding no that’s up to the dealer to decide but sense I bought it from an individual (like yourself) I have no grounds to stand on with them.

In response to the original poster, and to others participating - I have had a Z46 fix done on my '15 EcoDiesel by my local dealer, Eureka Dodge in Eureka, CA. It's not THE Z46 recall fix, though. (That happens between now and March 31, 2023.) My truck was there for 6 weeks. I got it back this past Monday. It seems a little slower. It still has that weird dead accelerator when starting out uphill in first gear shortly after a startup.
First, they replaced the fuel pressure regulator. No go. They replaced the entire fuel injection pump (with a new version of the recalled original CP4 pump). No go. They replaced the in-tank fuel pump, aka the lift pump. Success. The initial codes found were P0088 (which I got on my scan tool) and P1290, which I did not see on my scan tool.
I was handed a stack of papers (approx 15 pages) to review - and sign - upon getting my truck back. I was not allowed to copy them or even take my own pics of them. It contained a lot of valuable information. It contained misinformation, too. For example, it said I did not request a loaner vehicle. I certainly did, from day one. On the two pages I did get to take home, the mileage out is stated to be 60 miles less than I received it. (Extensive road testing, whatever - though the gas gauge was on E when I picked it up.) Delivery date reads Jan 1 2019. Wrong. Promised date reads Nov 15 2022. Wrong. It declares I said the CEL was on. Wrong. So none of that is very reassuring.
However, I paid nothing for the replacement of core, expensive fuel system components. My understanding is that Dodge's individual dealers decide what to do with this particular recall, and if true, it seems Eureka Dodge went above and beyond most dealers. So I will end with a thanks to Eureka Dodge for dealing gracefully with an awkward situation. Oh, I popped the hood before driving off. (Always do this, people. Always) The PCV hose dangled there, disconnected. I installed it and looked everything over before driving 60 miles home.

Since they were throwing parts at it, they probably wish they had changed the cheaper lift pump before the HPFP! I assume the HPFP they put in had minor changes since '15--the latest evolution of the same pump. Was yours under warranty or do they cover it because the HPFP is under recall?

#58 ·
I'm glad they got you back on the road. @Kluttsy93 hasn't had his truck for ca. five months because they won't put the available pump in under the same circumstances!

I personally think all the owners that have inoperable vehicles due to hpfp should band together and file a class action to include a replacement/loaner vehicle. Bet they'd get off their "corporate a**es" and do something then. My hpfp still works, I'm just having an issue finding and replacing "bank one sensor one".

My truck has been in the shop since November 11th. P4 pump failed. Below is the service ticket so far. The first week of January they told me they now need to order the in tank fuel pump which is on backorder with no expected date.

They are also saying they performed the P4 recall but I am not sure I see it on the below ticket, but I am no mechanic.

Has been nightmare with my dealership so far. Ton of turnover and staff with minimal experience. I dont know why they did not order the in tank fuel pump back in November with the rest of the parts.

FYI. I opened another case with RAM. I got a call this morning from RAM Customer Care. She confirmed my dealership installed the current version of the HPFP in an effort to get me back on the road. When the recall part is available I will need to bring truck back in to swap out the HPFP. RAM is working to expedite the back ordered in tank fuel pump. RAM Customer Care sent me an email with the case number, her direct extension, and instructions for rental vehicle reimbursement. They will reimburse rental up to $65/day in 10 day increments.
