Last year I did the service belt replacement work and at the same time replaced the guiding pulleys but left the old tensioner in place. I wanted to just replace the tensioner pulley itself with a Gates part which is advertised as both guiding pulley and/or tensioner pulley. Unfortunately, that didn't work as the big centering metal washer's outer edge which is curved will press firmly against the plastic ribs of a moving body preventing it from turning.
Has anyone replaced successfully just the
