I had it done last week. Works great. Got the pep (what little there was) back!

I'd speak to your favorite service writer.
I know the owner. What was the service write up. I need a club or hammer and I’ll go up there in person.

Is it on the FCA recall Chart? I don’t see it on their radar.

it is not a '' Recall '' in traditional sense ,
, but a '' rapid response item '' which will provide a downloadable product to the dealership for performing the VA7 ,
>> once they hook up a truck <<<<< then new AEM will show
the guy ( or gal ) at the counter will swear there is nothing available ,
but the machine will see that there is something available from the'' mother ship '',
and the service person will be surprised , but will finally know .

Couple questions. I am looking at buying a used 2015 outdoorsman that is originally from Canada, I used Mopar’s website to look at all the recalls that have been done to the truck. There is a V16 which from my research is the AEM update. I’ve read that this has had a negative effect on some peoples trucks performance wise and it seams not so on others. I would be buying from out of state so won’t be able to test drive it until I get out there but am I right in assuming that this V08 is supposed to remedy any issues caused by the AEM? It’s not at a Ram dealer so I can’t find out if it’s had this V08 done. If I buy it should I take to a dealer to have them do it regardless? Or should I not bother at all since I plan to get it tuned anyways?

I’ve also read that FCA Canada had no settlement for their owners on this issue. Since this is a Canadian truck now imported to the US I assume the non settlement still applies?

I'd stay away from a Canadian truck for sale in the US or the opposite. Neither will cover the other's warranty issues.
It’s a 2015 with 47,000 miles on it, dealer said there is only 4 months left of the Powertrain warranty anyways. I had planned to buy an extended warranty or put the money towards tuning it.

Didn’t we decide that the rebate wasn’t taxable?
.....I don't understand .....
post # 55 , where Muddrow2 said this :
'''' I received the same letter yesterday and called my dealership. They had no idea that there was an update.
.When I arrived to have them check, they said everything was up to date without hooking anything up.
.I asked if the updates were link via the internet, which they are, so I asked them to hook up my 2016 1500,
** and low and behold * there was an update. After the update was complete, the mileage seemed to return to something
.normal and this morning, 25F, i went out for a test drive. ===>> THE LAG WAS GONE.
Waiting to do a full tank mileage check. I'm happy some normalcy has returned. ''''

I had the VA7 done. Lag is gone. Nothing states that VA7 was done though. See attached Invoice and under hood Decal.

Original AEM V08 was done May 2019.

Just thought I’d share my experience... After I received the notice from FCA regarding the second update I called my dealership and also emailed them a copy of the notice... had to call them again two weeks later to follow up and they basically said “never heard of it”, nothing we can do for you. So I contacted the legal firm handling the AEM case and they called me back saying that dealers are unaware of the update but they would reach out... After reading through this post I called my dealership back and told the service guy that he needs to hook up the tool to reflash and it will show the update.. long story short took my truck to the dealer and got It back with the update completed... Seems to drive more like it use to... no slow lag. Now I just need to see if I get my fuel economy back...

I went in today to try and get this VA 7 update. Went through all the...you wont see it. The hooked up to my truck and said there is nothing to update.
I can't tell if the actual programmer was hooked up. But they would not go any further.

I was at the dealer the other day and the service tech asked if I had the VA 07 update and I said that it was a 17. His response was "Oh, that's too bad. Wait to 100k and then delete and tune."

Just registered today and thought I would add my 2 cents. I’m the 2nd owner of a 2016 1500 EcoDiesel with 38k miles. The truck had 20k miles when I bought it and had a problem with a leaky EGR cooler that was eventually replaced during that first year of my ownership. All under warranty. Did the paperwork for the emissions settlement and got the initial AEM flash along with the first check early in the process. Also got the induced lag when cold. Fast forward until a couple of weeks ago when the 2nd check arrived in the mail to my surprise and then I decided to check in with the service manager to see if they had the latest AEM (VA7) update. Good news, good news as they did and it’s done as of yesterday. Jumped in the truck first thing this morning (40 degs F) and my initial impression is that the throttle response is vastly improved. I’ve had to be extremely cautious exiting my driveway on a busy traffic day until this update so I’m very relieved. We’ll see how the mileage and trailer towing goes as the camping season gets underway.

Welcome to the site Duck1500 , nice to see the V07 is a reality ,
many are going to dealers and coming back without the V07 , reporting it does not exist ,
so It does exist , and it is an improvement , good ...

Thanks Kaz. I imagine that there are some dealers out there that might not have the update or perhaps haven’t gotten the word out to all of the service techs maybe? I know when I asked about it a few weeks ago, the service person I spoke with knew about the letter from FCA but didn’t know when the update was going to be available. I’d suggest people check in with their dealers because it does exist. I was hoping to speak with the Service guy that I normally see when I take the truck in but he was on the phone and I didn’t want to wait. I’ll report back at a later date when I’ve had a chance to see if there are and issues with fuel economy or performance when towing. It doesn’t get much use until the camping weather arrives.

Just a quick update since I last posted about getting the V07 AEM fix... Yes the sluggish acceleration at slow speeds is gone but the fuel economy still sucks! After the original AEM I went from 19 city/27hwy to a dismal 16/18. Now after the second fix I get a very disappointing 18/21 MPG. Wondering what my options are at this point... Hell, I could’ve bought a HEMI if I wanted those kind of numbers!

Someone posted a FCA chart that showed the VA7 is no longer available. It showed a V11 as a update to the V08. Anyone know anything about this? Also calling dealerships, they had no clue. Even though I got a letter from FCA saying the fix is coming. What gives?

I have 139k on my 2015 and had the V08 and U07 done, but just got a notice that my truck has open recalls fro VA7 and U07, so obviously their records are not up to date. The V08 destroyed the driveablity of the truck and dropped the mileage, so I used some of my settlement money for a SFT tune, with the EGR turned off. Does anyone know if there is an associated flash to go with the VA7?
