Has anyone plasti dipped the chrome clad wheels on the 3D yet? From what I've read (on another forum) it seems like a decent temporary solution to get rid of the chrome wheels until new ones can be purchased. I read a thread of a guy (link below) do it with the wheels still on by covering the brakes with plastic bags and taping everything else, including the lug nuts. Guy in thread on other forum (link below) said just put three heavy coats on right before the previous one dries. Another guy takes them off and they seem to come out real nice.

I also saw on this forum a guy plasti dipped his decals and that seems like a good way to darken them if you so choose. Again, from what I've read, correct me if I'm wrong, if you mess up with this stuff, it's apparently pretty easy to just peel off and try again.

Guy in thread I read also said it held up a lot better, over a year I believe, than he expected it to.

Anything else I'm missing or should know before I give this a shot?

If anyone has done it and can provide some pics/details/warnings/findings I'd much appreciate it.
