Ive got just over 80,000 miles on my truck, it sees its fair share of tow time and monthly 4x4 use so im thinking about changing the transmission filter and fluid soon.

Where are decent priced and availability on the filter pan? Amazon? etc.

Im planning on using the Valvoline Max Life Synthetic.

Thanks in advance.

If you think you'll service the trans more than twice the PPE pan would be worth the extra money. Replaceable filter runs about $30 for subsequent services. Unlike the stock pan, the drain plug in the PPE pan actually works.

Im sure there not the same the filter media has different part numbers probably has a lot less capacity but may work just fine with shorter intervals, or it maybe identical and fca chooses to waste money on parts which is unlikely.

We may never find out Broken , the member Acerock , who posted about the less expensive pan , sold his truck
according to his '' recent activity '' description , has not been here for a month .
so he never drove it long enough to go to nest transmission oil change .

I got the cheap pan off of Amazon. However, I won't be doing that again for another 70,000 miles. And that'll take a couple of years.

I wont be expecting to get Vern style miles out of it because I simply do not drive that much, I average 21,000 mile a year. I will service the trans every 75,000-100,000 miles, but I will probably only change the filter after this first time, from then on I will just do a drain/fill.

So, this may not be of any help because I do t have specifics, but there was a thread about a year ago that discussed about the different pans. While the numbers are different the less expensive pan fits our transmission. Both hold the same amount of transmission fluid. I believe the pan was less than $100.
Sorry I didn't have time to look up the thread but it mentions the specifics.
I ordered the pan off Amazon and used the valvoline synthetic fluid suited for use in the zf. That was 40,000 miles ago. I have had no issues.
Hope this helps.
