I am mostly sure I did it. I wished there was an easier way to tell which are the latest updates. Looks like they could incorporate that into Uconnect app.

Enter your VIN on the Uconnect website and it will tell you if an update is available. Somehow they know I updated mine recently because it now says no updates available. By the way I didn't notice anything different after the update.

I have a 2016 that I bought brand new exactly a year ago....Just checked and the above mentioned update has not been done on my radio....Thinking about doing it tomorrow but wondering what the real benefit/changes are???? If anyone knows,, thanks in advance.

 

I think that is the one I did that added the Siri Eyes-Free which is kinda handy... but still no CarPlay.
Other than that... didn't notice any changes.

 

Finally loaded it into the truck. I didn't see any changes at all, but not had time to really look too much either. I like the fact that FCA gives us the opportunity to load this update ourselves without having to go to the dealer. Thanks FCA.

 

I tried to update mine last night. It wouldn't load. The file that is on my flash drive is "swdl". Is that the same as everyone else here?

For those who have a uconnect 5.0 , and Wonder if there is an update available ,
I went to the site , put in my 2015 détails , and VIN# , was told " no updates at this time "
for 2015 Uconnect 5.0 ( RA2 ).

 

So I tried again, and it worked this time. Didn't notice anything new yet, but at least a learned how to update it.

 

According to the update log info I digged up other than bug fixes the only real addition is Siri "Eyes Free" if you have an iPhone. Holding down the Voice Recognition button on the steering wheel for a few seconds will enable it the same as holding the home key on your iPhone, then just ask Siri to do whatever it is you want. There's a YouTube video on it out there somewhere. Definitely not as useful as Apple CarPlay but I guess its a start.

Yep, I tried it and it's Siri Eyes Free. It's not life changing by any means, but it's worth it just to be able to update the software yourself.
